Grain & Bare It is a small, family run business based in Middlesex and was started in December 2024. We have a love and passion for rustic wooden furniture and decided to begin creating their own unique pieces for others to enjoy as much as we do. The first piece created was a dining table for our own home as we couldn’t find anything we liked within our budget. The feedback received from friends and family was overwhelming and inspired us to create even more!
Since receiving our first ‘cha-ching’ on Etsy, we have grown to over 85 sales in just a few months and are getting busier by the day! Even more exciting is the feedback we continue to receive from our happy customers which keeps us determined to continue to offer the best possible service and experience we possibly can in creating high quality but affordable rustic homeware.
We recycle wood to make our beautiful rustic creations. Our reclaimed or recycled wood is carefully hand selected for its perfectly imperfect appearance. Therefore knots, cracks, scuffs, open grain, old nail holes, saw marks, hammer indent and historic markings are all a common feature.
We embrace all of these features as they are an integral part of the look and feel of our design and business model.
Unevenness and small shallows in the wood are to be expected. Surfaces may not be perfectly flat as reclaimed or recycled wood is not an engineered or manufactured product.
As the reclaimed wood adjusts to the conditions in your home, over time there may be slight movement in the wood such as shrinkage between planks, as well as small cracks opening and closing depending on the environment.
